SILKAIR OFFERS EXTRA FLIGHTS DURING CHINESE NEW YEAR
SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, will be mounting additional flights during the festive Chinese New Year period to cater to increased demand from travellers.
Between 11 and 20 February 2010, the airline will be offering extra flights to five destinations, namely Kuching, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Chongqing and Phuket.
On the Singapore-Kuching route, four additional flights will be offered in the periods before and after Chinese New Year, on 11, 13, 15 and 20 February.
Services to Kuala Lumpur will be increased by two additional flights on 12 and 16 February.
To Penang, customers will have the convenience of four additional flights on 12, 13, 15 and 16 February.
Services to Chongqing will be increased by an additional flight on 15 February, while two additional flights will be offered for the Singapore-Phuket route on 13 and 16 February.
Commenting on the increase in flight capacity, SilkAir’s Vice-President Commercial, Mr Alvin Seah, said: “We have observed a significantly higher demand for travel during the Chinese New Year period, which falls on 14 and 15 February this year. SilkAir is providing these extra flights as an added service for the convenience of our customers, who may be trying to get home in time for the New Year or simply making a quick getaway during this long holiday which also coincides with Valentine’s Day.”
