Singapore
It may be one of the 20 smallest countries in the world, but Singapore packs a big punch with its energetic fusion of Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures in a leafy tropical metropolis.

Make time for the true national sports of Singapore – eating and shopping. Wander Boat Quay and Clark Quay for riverside dining. Catch a drink and show at the marvellous opera house, The Esplanade. Then pop into the venerable Raffles Hotel for high tea. Lau Pa Sat is a superb historic structure, where you can take your pick of local delicacies – sizzling satay, Indian roti prata, steaming laksa or the Singapore’s national dish, Hainanese Chicken Rice. Leave a little room – the pepper and chilli crab in Singapore is not to be missed. Later, indulge in some mall mania – Funan Centre for IT gadgets, the Paragon for high-end fashion items, and the gleaming fashion stores along the shopping mile of Orchard Road.
