One of the world’s longest beaches, Marina Beach, is the pride of Chennai. Throng with the locals mostly in the evenings, the Marina Beach is the perfect place for friends and family to gather and have picnics. The locals can be found gathering around and eating Chaat at the nearby stalls, or sitting in circles to have a meal on the breezy sandy beach. The beach is also a great place for people watching. Along the beach drive are some of the most beautiful buildings, such as the University of Chennai, Senate House, Chepuk Palace, Presidency College and Ice House.
Have an educational day out with the children at National Deer Park or the Guindy Snake Park. Witness a sizeable number of the endangered species of the Indian antelope running in the Deer parks, or head down to the Guindy Snake Park and observe the deadly King Cobra with variety collections of snakes. These parks are often flocked with locals, tourist or animal lovers alike.
