For historical sites, Xiamen’s Huli Hill Fort is the place. This impregnable fort built out of sand, clay, camphor tree juice, lime and glutinous rice was home to a collection of ancient weapons and the world’s largest cannon. You must check out Nanputuo Temple's halls and pavilions spreading across the Five Old Men Mountains like an oversized Chinese miniature landscape.
