The serene 'WenShu Yuan' is Chengdu’s largest and best preserved monastery – and boasts a large tea house, an important Buddha statue from Tibet, and a white statue from Burma. Visit JinLi or Kuan Zhai Xiang for an array of restaurants and pubs amidst ancient architecture. Later, visit a traditional Chinese opera theatre, home to Sichuan’s famed opera troupe. Then at Panda Reseearch Base, check out the loveable but endangered giant pandas.
