SILKAIR NOW FLIES DAILY BETWEEN SINGAPORE AND HYDERABAD

SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has increased its flight frequency between Singapore and the Indian city of Hyderabad from five times weekly to daily, starting today. SilkAir began flying between Singapore and Hyderabad on 15 June 2009, taking over operations from Singapore Airlines. The Singapore-Hyderabad flights have received strong support from customers and experienced good load factors over the past four months of operation.

The schedules for SilkAir’s daily flights between Singapore and Hyderabad are as follows:

Flight Day of Operation Departure Arrival
MI 478 1234567 SIN 2100hrs HYD 2305hrs
MI 477 1234567 HYD 0005hrs SIN 0725hrs

Hyderabad, located in Andhra Pradesh, is the airline’s fourth Indian destination after Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Coimbatore. With the increased flight frequencies between Singapore and Hyderabad, SilkAir now operates a total of 40 flights weekly between Singapore and India.

SilkAir’s new northern winter schedule offers increased flight frequencies to destinations in the carrier’s network that demonstrate strong growth potential. Besides the Singapore-Hyderabad services, the airline will be increasing the frequency of its flights between Singapore and Kathmandu, Nepal; Phuket, Thailand; and Kunming, China.

For Kathmandu, the flight frequency will be stepped up to six times weekly from the current five times.  Flights to Phuket will be increased to 28 times weekly from the present 25 times, while those to Kunming will be increased from twice to three times weekly.

Changes to the flight frequencies for these four destinations will take effect from 25 October 2009.
